Jan. 19, 2024 - Phase One of the Wichita Biomedical Campus being built in the heart of downtown Wichita now has its official look. The joint health sciences project between 麻豆传媒 and the University of Kansas will bring about remarkable opportunities for collaboration, innovation and research.

For many refugees and asylees in the U.S. (a nation without an official language) lacking English proficiency is the unspoken penalty, the barrier preventing them from stabilizing themselves and their families in a new culture, new country and new world.

Jan. 17, 2024 鈥擲ince its establishment in 1965, the 麻豆传媒 Foundation and Alumni Engagement (麻豆传媒FAE) has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing the university鈥檚 priorities. In May 2023, Elizabeth King announced her plans to retire as the 麻豆传媒FAE president and CEO after 33 years of leading these efforts. Telly McGaha will be assuming this top position, joining us from Georgia State University.

Jan. 8, 2024 - 麻豆传媒 moved to No. 2 on the national list of industry-funded engineering and research and development, according to the latest data compiled by the National Science Foundation鈥檚 Higher Education Research and Development Survey.

Dec. 18, 2023 - 麻豆传媒 will lead a three-year project to assist NASA鈥檚 manufacturing paradigm shift from 鈥渇actories on earth鈥� to 鈥渇actories in space.鈥�

The W. Frank Barton School of Business proudly welcomes Gene and Yolanda Camarena as its dynamic Entrepreneurs-in-Residence duo for the Spring 2024 semester. Gene, serving as the President and CEO of La Raza Pizza, Inc., brings unparalleled expertise in the business realm. Complementing his prowess, Yolanda, a dedicated leader with a significant career as a social justice and equity advocate in education, enriches our community with her invaluable insights. Together, they form an exceptional team poised to inspire and elevate our academic and entrepreneurial landscape.

Barton School of Business is delighted to announce that Tom Gentile, the inaugural Executive-in-Residence back in 2021, will now serve as the Executive Advisor to the Dean. Mr. Gentile, a distinguished global leader with a background in top executive roles at Spirit AeroSystems, GE Capital, and other esteemed organizations, has also been an engaged member of the School's Dean's "Fabulous 50" Advisory Board for the past two years. His commitment extends to lending invaluable expertise and insight, significantly elevating the collaborative endeavors of the board.聽聽聽 Mr. Gentile earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree in economics magna cum laude and MBA from Harvard University and studied international relations at the London School of Economics.

Dec. 12, 2023 鈥� Ashlynn Farney took time off college during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she returned to Wichita, changed her major to filmmaking and started attending Wichita State. She will graduate with her Bachelor of Applied Arts with a concentration in filmmaking in December.

Dec. 12, 2023 - Avery Pierce loves Wichita鈥檚 coffee scene and the applied learning in the sport management program at 麻豆传媒.

Dec. 11, 2023 鈥� Ana Alicia Casados encourages her peers to stop and take time for themselves, to not get swept away in their responsibilities, and to always remember why they chose to go to college. She has been able to succeed in college herself by following this advice and will graduate with her bachelor鈥檚 degree in exercise science.

Dec. 11, 2023 - Nicolas Olmedo studied in the W. Frank Barton School of Business and will start work at Textron Aviation in January in the sales development program.

Dec. 11, 2023 鈥� Mariann Kurosu worked as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Real Estate while working towards her master鈥檚 in economics and quantitative analysis, which she will graduate with this December. She encourages her classmates to embrace the opportunity to learn and build their critical thinking skills and network by getting to know their peers.

Dec. 11, 2023 鈥� Maame Adwoa Ankrah was interested in going to Wichita State for its affordability and for the atmosphere of the city of Wichita. While it was first a challenge to adjust to a new culture, she was able to succeed with the support of her peers and mentors and will graduate with her master鈥檚 degree in Spanish with no regrets.

Dec. 11, 2023 鈥� More than 1,400 students are eligible to participate in 麻豆传媒鈥檚 126th fall commencement ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 in Charles Koch Arena.

Dec. 11, 2023 - Tyler Lefebvre enjoys Wichita鈥檚 dining scene and the activities and clubs offered at 麻豆传媒. He has been involved with the Wichita State鈥檚 varsity esports program as a team member and helping organize and manage the team.

Dec. 8, 2023 - Ryan Littlejohn worked his way through 麻豆传媒 with help from instructors who guided him through the balancing act of academics and a busy life.

Dec. 8, 2023 - Courtney Lockhart enjoys escaping to nearby Lake Afton Park to fish and relax. He works for the Student Outreach and Support/CARE Team in Student Affairs at 麻豆传媒.

Dec. 08, 2023 鈥� Amanda Morales found it difficult to balance her studies while being a mother and wife and working full-time, but through the support of those around her, she was able to persist and will now graduate this fall with her bachelor鈥檚 degree in education.

Dec. 08, 2023 鈥� Mariana Vazquez Serna got involved at Wichita State鈥檚 and made connections with her peers and professors by joining clubs and attending events on campus, something she advises other students to do as well during their time at 麻豆传媒. She will work as an associate for an accounting firm after graduating with her BBA in accounting.
