Feb. 15, 2024 鈥� Ten high school students from Kansas, Missouri and Texas have been awarded the Koch Scholarship at 麻豆传媒, starting in the fall 2024 semester. Each scholar each will be awarded $30,000 to attend 麻豆传媒 over four years.

聽The W. Frank Barton School of Business' School of Accountancy at 麻豆传媒 has announced the return of its annual Barton Accounting Forum on May 15, 2024. This one-day conference is tailored for accounting and finance professionals, as well as students studying accounting. Attendees can receive eight hours of Continuing Professional Education credits by participating in the conference in addition to invaluable networking opportunities. This marks the first conference held by the School of Accountancy since 2022, and it will take place on Wichita State鈥檚 campus.

Feb. 14, 2024 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 awarded Faith Swart, a Maize High School senior, the 2024 Clay Barton Scholarship. The $50,000 scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Feb. 13, 2024 鈥� The College of Engineering at 麻豆传媒 is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty and community members. The 5k will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 on the 麻豆传媒 campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

On Wednesday, February 7, members of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 stopped by Maize High School to award senior Faith Swart the 2024 Clay Barton Scholarship. The surprise, coordinated between the Barton School and Maize High School officials, included an announcement and presentation of a ceremonial check to Swart during one of her classes. The $50,000 scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Cockrell, who has been working at the Barton School for more than five years as a faculty member, will take over from Duane Nagel, recently appointed as the Barton School鈥檚 Senior Associate Dean.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 has finalized the inaugural group for the Erin and Kyle Cummings $500,000 Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF). The class consists of 30 students from across the world representing 10 majors.

Feb. 6, 2024 - A grant from the National Endowment for the Arts will help the Ulrich Museum of Art celebrate the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection as part of the Museum鈥檚 50th Anniversary special programming.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Duane Nagel as its Senior Associate Dean. In this role, Nagel will oversee the successful implementation of the school鈥檚 strategic plan and related key initiatives, manage undergraduate and graduate programs, lead efforts to maximize on our enrollments, advance faculty and research affairs, among other key areas. His collaborative efforts with Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School, and other key leaders will focus on identifying areas for enhancement and innovation across these domains.

Feb. 1, 2024 鈥� 麻豆传媒 has selected the 2024 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 麻豆传媒 starting in August 2024.

Feb. 1, 2024 鈥� The College of Engineering at 麻豆传媒 is hosting an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school girls from Wichita and the surrounding area.

Jan. 22, 2024 鈥� The FirePoint Innovations Center at 麻豆传媒 announced it has been selected to deliver Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub programming for the National Security Innovation Network through the newly established Great Plains Mission Acceleration Center, an innovation and collaboration hub designed to connect small businesses, academia and the Department of Defense to support defense-focused technology development.
