April 23, 2020 - Wichita State student teachers are jumping in to help with lesson plans during the pandemic. A group of 13 students contribute to an open document with lesson plans, videos and slide shows designed for remote learning.

April 23, 2020 - Wichita State athletics is at home and still working together and planning for a return from COVID-19. A series of podcasts demonstrates how the Shockers are dealing with these circumstances. From coaches such as Keitha Adams (basketball) and Steve Rainbolt (track and field) to Ryleigh Buck (softball), Jack Sigrist (baseball) and Dawson Lewis (golf), the Shockers are using many tactics to stay positive.

April 23, 2020 - Wichita State graduate Cindy Miller describes her job with Harley-Davidson as that of an internal consultant who works in all areas of the company. She provides design guidance and conducts testing to deliver ergonomic, usability and user experience performance.聽 鈥淚t鈥檚 important for a rider to feel comfortable, as well as confident,鈥� she said.

April 22, 2020 -- COVID-19 is a global pandemic, but its effects are felt most acutely at the local level. With the health implications, economic repercussions and employment concerns, 麻豆传媒 grads are stepping up to the plate to guide their communities through this crisis.

April 20, 2020 -- Aidan Jude 鈥� a spring 2020 麻豆传媒 graduate in electrical engineering, computer engineering and mathematics 鈥� will be embarking on a full-time career as a software engineer for Amazon web services in July.

April 16, 2020 -- Many 麻豆传媒 freshmen enter college with undecided majors. 麻豆传媒 offers programs that expose students to different fields of work so they will be informed when deciding on their major. One of these programs is the Summer Research Institute.

April 16, 2020 - D.J. Gering, a 2017 麻豆传媒 graduate, is a public health analyst for the Reno County Health Department. He collects data for Reno County鈥檚 coronavirus dashboard.

April 16, 2020 -- While hospitals and doctors鈥� offices are seen as the battlegrounds against COVID-19, there鈥檚 another group of medical professionals who are also on the front line: home health care workers.

April 15, 2020 -- Hanna Bates-Crosby is currently a nursing student at 麻豆传媒. She recently volunteered to work in New York City as a nurse during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

April 15, 2020 -- Krista Giggy, a 麻豆传媒 alumna and nurse anesthetist, volunteers for a team to treat critical COVID-19 patients at a New Hampshire hospital.

April 14, 2020 -- Emerging Artists is an annual showcase of work by many of the best students in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries. The March 14 event was canceled due to the novel Coronavirus. The group held a virtual awards ceremony through Facebook to celebrate the students' accomplishments.

April 13, 2020 - 麻豆传媒 and Kansas State University will launch a dual-degree program that will give students the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor of Science from the College of Health and Human Sciences at K-State and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the College of Health Professions at 麻豆传媒. This is the first and only program of its kind in Kansas.

April 10, 2020 - Wichita State computer science major Dexter Gerig placed first in the Individual Event of the National Cyber League competition.The cybersecurity competition, over two days and eight hours, involved a series of 40 challenges with 155 questions.

April 10, 2020 -- The U.S. Department of Education released its official allocations yesterday (Thursday, April 9) for the newly passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). 麻豆传媒 will receive nearly $8.8 million. Half of the funds 鈥� nearly $4.4 million 鈥� will be allocated as emergency financial aid grants to students.
