May 1, 2024 鈥� Iris Okere joined 麻豆传媒 for its affordability and distance to her home in Texas. Here, she found 麻豆传媒 to be a place full of opportunities for her, including a chance grow her own confidence and independence through the challenges she faced, and in her final year, she was elected to the position of student body president in the Student Government Association.

April 01, 2024 鈥� Hear from Zachary Brown, director of strategic enrollment and student services in the Barton School of Business and a current employee at Wichita State who went to college as a first-gen student, about the first-gen experience.

Feb. 14, 2024 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 awarded Faith Swart, a Maize High School senior, the 2024 Clay Barton Scholarship. The $50,000 scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Dec. 11, 2023 鈥� Mariann Kurosu worked as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Real Estate while working towards her master鈥檚 in economics and quantitative analysis, which she will graduate with this December. She encourages her classmates to embrace the opportunity to learn and build their critical thinking skills and network by getting to know their peers.

Dec. 08, 2023 鈥� Mariana Vazquez Serna got involved at Wichita State鈥檚 and made connections with her peers and professors by joining clubs and attending events on campus, something she advises other students to do as well during their time at 麻豆传媒. She will work as an associate for an accounting firm after graduating with her BBA in accounting.

Nov. 6, 2023 鈥� 麻豆传媒 is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life. To help with their transition, Wichita State offers a number of resources to first-gen students to support them during their time in college, including聽F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.

Sept. 25, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Bayle Sandy found a sense of community at 麻豆传媒 and enjoyed support from many sources for her academic and extracurricular pursuits. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Aug. 4, 2023 鈥� 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech are key drivers of economic growth, fueling job creation, fostering industry partnerships, and supporting local businesses 鈥� and the numbers prove it. According to the 2022 Economic Impact Study, 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech鈥檚 total economic impact in Kansas in 2021 was $1.3 billion.

Sept. 12, 2022 鈥� Jon Peterson, a senior from Illinois, considers Wichita a hidden gem with many opportunities to get involved and learn. He is diving into the world of finance and venture capital with his internship with the University Venture Fund Crossroads Program.聽

Aug. 19, 2022 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 is teaming up again with 麻豆传媒 Tech on a new career pathway program for 麻豆传媒 Tech students interested in an industry greatly affecting the entire world right now: supply chain management.

Aug. 12, 2022 - Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall, the state-of-the-art facility that will be home to the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒, is set to open for classes Aug. 22.

July 7, 2022 - Kyla Gordon came to Wichita State from Denver to major in entrepreneurship and take advantage of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 many student activities.

July 5, 2022 - Aram Khader is a marketing strategist at ShockStarter, a student-led marketing firm. Working on class projects for clients helped her learn terminology and deadlines that will help her build a resume and career.聽

May 25, 2022 鈥� The Woolseys have made an additional gift from their trust of $1.3 million to Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall at 麻豆传媒. A portion of the gift will be used to create the Kay Woolsey Garden, with the remainder going toward the Woolsey Hall Technology Fund.

May 11, 2022 鈥� Domestic travelers returned to planes en masse in 2021, but airlines struggled to deliver them, and their bags, to their destinations on time, according to the annual Airline Quality Rating released today by 麻豆传媒.
