April 10, 2020 - Wichita State computer science major Dexter Gerig placed first in the Individual Event of the National Cyber League competition.The cybersecurity competition, over two days and eight hours, involved a series of 40 challenges with 155 questions.

April 9, 2020 - Wichita State faculty, staff and students are helping each other deal with the pandemic. Whether it's a fun Zoom meeting, a phone call or help with a technology question, examples are abundant of people working together in a difficult time.

April 2, 2020 - Wichita State softball pitcher Caitlin Bingham is sewing protective masks for medical personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.

March 30, 2020 - The relationship between Wichita State's College of Engineering and the Wichita Police Department led to 3D printing of face shields used by first responders.

The Wichita State Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College is proud to announce eight recipients of the Koch Scholars program for the fall 2020 semester. Each of the students will receive between $30,000 and $45,000 during their four-year attendance at 麻豆传媒.

March 11, 2020 -- Three 麻豆传媒 researchers and a student group have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award.

Feb. 26, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Ventures have entered into a new strategic partnership with California-based Lightning Diversion Systems, a Ducommun Company. The partnership involves the exclusive licensing of a lightning strike protection system for rotor blades in the wind turbine industry.

Feb. 20, 2020 -- Dane Laughlin started working for INVISTA, Koch Industries鈥� textiles, polymers, fiber and resin producer, while he was a biomedical engineering student at Wichita State and got hired on full time after graduating in May 2019.

Feb. 7 2020 -- Ten high school seniors have won the 2020 Wallace Scholarship in engineering to attend 麻豆传媒.

Feb. 5, 2020 -- Thanks to a generous gift from utility company Evergy, students in the College of Engineering at 麻豆传媒 can learn about and conduct research on solar power technology, as well as how to protect an electric grid from short circuiting.

Jan. 31, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 has selected the 2020 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 麻豆传媒 in August 2020.

Dec. 19, 2019 -- Those interested in a career in biomedical engineering just received another degree option that鈥檚 closer to home. 麻豆传媒 and Butler Community College have joined forces to create a 2+2 agreement that articulates a complete four-year plan of study in biomedical engineering.

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Stanford University鈥檚 Hasso Plattner Institute of Design has named three Wichita State students as University Innovation Fellows. Jacob Burns, Molly Carlson and Savannah Redfern will join more than 2,000 Fellows at 267 institutions worldwide.

Dec. 13, 2019 -- Katlyn, a student at USD 259鈥檚 Levy Special Education Center, has cerebral palsy and is nonverbal. Three Wichita State Engineering students have made communication a lot easier for her as a class project this semester.

Dec. 9, 2019 -- A $1.25 million gift from the estate of 麻豆传媒 alumnus Brenton D. Myers will support the 麻豆传媒 College of Engineering, where Myers earned the degree that helped him build a lifelong career in engineering and airport planning.

Dec. 9, 2019 --聽Five teams of 麻豆传媒 students emerged as finalists in the Koch Innovation Challenge, held Dec. 6.

Dec. 6, 2019 -- The fourth annual Koch Innovation Challenge, sponsored by Koch Industries and held at Wichita State, will take place from 9 a.m.-noon on Friday, Dec. 6, in 107 Devlin Hall. Teams compiled from the Introduction to Technology & Innovation Freshman seminar course compete for funding to pursue their big idea venture.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Javier Martinez and Jonathan Lozano hadn鈥檛 even intended to earn Wichita State鈥檚 inaugural Parkinson Scholarship in 2018, but they did. Both first-generation college students share their stories of adversity and triumph and offer words of encouragement for future first-gen college hopefuls.

Nov. 21, 2019 -- 麻豆传媒 is in the middle of a six part sustainability plan to develop and promote initiatives leading to a greater use of resources on campus. The initiatives revolve around facility improvements, new curriculum opportunities and overall student impact.The second goal of these efforts is to focus on reducing the carbon footprint on campus.

Nov. 21, 2019 -- As nationwide demand for biomedical engineers continues to grow, 麻豆传媒 is moving forward with a plan to create a doctoral program that would help fill that need.

Nov. 8, 2019 -- College of Engineering Dean Dennis Livesay has constructed an elaborate, storied LEGO city in his basement over the last six years. Most of it is his own creation and has ties to his personal history.

Oct. 29, 2019 - It鈥檚 the living room of the engineering building in the Partnership 2 building on the Innovation Campus: GEEKS, a full-service tutoring lab for engineering students. The facility is a free resource that yields a significant amount of success for engineering students.

Oct. 18, 2019 - Four Wichita State students are studying variable stars. One of their earliest tasks was to choose a variable star, from hundreds of possibilities, to study. The students follow the process that a scientist follows in constructing, analyzing, interpreting, writing and publishing their work. The project is designed to give the students 鈥渁n experience of the essence of the scientific endeavor while contributing to the actual scientific literature.鈥�

Oct. 17, 2019 - Senior industrial engineering student Sydney Jaeger is making the most of her college experience. It鈥檚 not always easy, but she finds a way to balance time as an engineering intern, student, member of 麻豆传媒 Cheer and a campus leader.

Sept. 26, 2019 -聽Students Zeeshan Kahn and James Meli, along with alumni Emmanuel Daramola and Billi Meli, recently released their mobile application, aimed at connecting students through campus events. With more than 350 downloads so far, they are excited about the possibilities the app provides.
