Feb. 6, 2023 鈥� The 麻豆传媒 College of Engineering is hosting an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school girls from Wichita Public Schools. The event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Jan. 20, 2023 - In December, the National Science Foundation Convergence Accelerator Track awarded a Wichita State-led team a $750,000 grant to gather information and create digital maps of indoor spaces that could be used by persons with disabilities.

Sept. 21, 2022 - Alexander Sterzing is a member of Wichita State鈥檚 rowing team and involved in other activities such as the International Buddy Program and Christian Challenge. Alexander, from the Houston area, majors in aerospace engineering and works in the NASA Jump Start Program.

Sept. 15, 2022 鈥� An interdisciplinary team of 麻豆传媒 researchers is working to curb pollution and damage caused by road salt. The project 鈥� ECO-CBET: Convergent Electrolysis-Electrodialysis System (CEES) to Curb Urban Chloride Pollution by Eco-friendly Road Deicing and Waste Salt Upcycling 鈥� was recently awarded $1.4 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Sept. 1, 2022 鈥� A 麻豆传媒 research team has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for their proposal, 鈥淓xamining the feasibility of a wearable device for fetal heart rate monitoring through interdisciplinary research.鈥�

Aug. 25, 2022 鈥� Bill Bui, a fifth year human factors psychology student, is broadening his studies by working as a human factors engineer at NASA during fall 2022.

July 22, 2022 鈥� Kyle Walter is interning as a student team lead at the Deloitte Smart Factory @ Wichita, located on Wichita State's Innovation Campus. Kyle says the internship has provided him valuable skills in smart manufacturing technology development.

June 10, 2022 -- Tiahna Padilla is a senior majoring in computer engineering and an animation. She is currently utilizing her skills as an intern at Textron Aviation as an IT business analyst.

June 8, 2022 - Cameron Holston works with a variety of aircraft at the Aircraft Structural Test and Evaluation Center, part of the National Institute for Aviation Research. The experience prepares him for a career in the field of aerospace.

June 7, 2022 鈥� Wichita State has a storied history of working with NASA while providing research opportunities to its students. David Nevarez-Saenz, an aerospace engineering senior and first-generation student, has been working with 麻豆传媒鈥檚 NASA Jump Start Program (JSP) for the past two years.

June 3, 2022 - Chidera Okoro is learning computer skills and coding language as an intern at 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Media Resources Center. She competes in the long jump and triple jump for the track and field team and is a three-time member of the Athletic Director鈥檚 Honor Roll.

May 31, 2022 鈥� Anllir Ramirez-Tenorio is squeezing in a summer internship with Tesla in between his spring and fall internship with Delta TechOps. Anllir said the resources available at Wichita State have prepared him to succeed in his real-world career opportunities.
