Oct. 21, 2020 - Dr. Larisa Genin鈥檚 first year at Wichita State created a number of priorities, none more important than Woolsey Hall, the Barton School鈥檚 new $60 million,聽125,000-square-foot home. Ribbon-cutting for the building is Oct. 22. Genin sees Woolsey Hall as a transformative place for the Barton School with the space, amenities and appeal to attract students, enhance applied learning opportunities and strengthen connections with the business community. The building will help Wichita State add degree and certificate programs and attract top teaching and research talent.

Oct. 20, 2020 鈥 The Kansas Legislature in 2011 made a commitment to invest $105 million statewide over the next decade with the purpose of increasing the number of engineers available to industry. For its $35 million share of that money 鈥 granted under the University Engineering Initiative Act (UEIA) 鈥 Wichita State College of Engineering pledged to double the number of bachelor鈥檚 degrees it awarded annually. The aggressive goal was surpassed this past academic year as the college awarded 380 bachelor鈥檚 degrees.

Oct. 14, 2020 --聽The Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) voted today to appoint 麻豆传媒 (麻豆传媒) Provost Richard Muma as interim president of 麻豆传媒. Dr. Muma has been serving as acting president since September 25 and will begin serving as interim president immediately.

Oct. 1, 2020 -- Enrollment for fall 2020 at 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech is down, following record years of enrollment growth. Despite the decline, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of thousands of local jobs, the percentage drop in full-time equivalency (FTE) at the institutions is better than the average decline for Kansas Board of Regents institutions, which is 3.6% for state universities and 8.7% for technical colleges.

Memorial '70 ceremony

Sept. 30, 2020 - The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 麻豆传媒 plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Cessna Stadium. There will be a reception immediately following the remembrance on the Cessna Stadium concourse. Enhancements have been made to Memorial 鈥70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university. Those additions to Memorial 鈥70 will be officially be revealed on Oct. 2.
