Aug. 11, 2022 - Secret shoppers often shop for pizza or clothing with an eye on helpfulness and timely service. They might also evaluate a hotel for cleanliness and service. But secret shopping isn鈥檛 just limited to those kind of consumer experiences. 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Public Policy and Management Center uses 麻豆传媒 students as secret shoppers to help workforce training centers improve their services for people in search of employment and job training.

Aug. 8, 2022 鈥� The U.S. Army Aviation enterprise is collaborating with 麻豆传媒鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research to develop an AH-64 Apache Digital Twin in a contract that kicked off with a ribbon-cutting event on campus last week.

Aug. 4, 2022 - 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Office of Innovation and New Ventures will address technology gaps in the local business ecosystem with the formation of the Small Business Digital Transformation Program. The program is funded with a $1 million grant from the American Rescue Plan Act. The Small Business Digital Transformation Program focuses on small businesses (500 or fewer employees).

July 28, 2022 - More than 1,000 local Amazon employees can now receive tuition assistance at 麻豆传媒 through the Amazon Career Choice program. Each full-time Amazon employee is eligible for $5,250 of tuition assistance per calendar year. Part-time employees are eligible for $2,625 per calendar year.

July 27, 2022 鈥� Nick Elam, educator and inventor of what is known as the Elam Ending in basketball, will speak to College of Applied Studies students at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23 in 231 Hubbard Hall. Other 麻豆传媒 students and the general public are also invited to attend free of charge.

July 25, 2022 - 鈥淓xplore Wichita State鈥� is a seven-stop campus audio tour featuring significant sites and university history. Host Carla Eckels of KMUW narrates. The tour starts at the Ulrich Museum of Art and ends at the Carnegie Library Columns at 17th and Fairmount.

July 22, 2022 鈥� Kyle Walter is interning as a student team lead at the Deloitte Smart Factory @ Wichita, located on Wichita State's Innovation Campus. Kyle says the internship has provided him valuable skills in smart manufacturing technology development.

July 18, 2022 鈥� 麻豆传媒, along with several community partners, presents the Suspenders4Hope Preventing Suicide Training at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21 at The Phoenix Gym, 145 N. Wabash in Wichita. This free training will be facilitated by Dr. Jessica Provines, Wichita State鈥檚 assistant vice president for wellness and chief psychologist. It鈥檚 open to all addiction treatment counselors and providers and community members.

July 5, 2022 - Aram Khader is a marketing strategist at ShockStarter, a student-led marketing firm. Working on class projects for clients helped her learn terminology and deadlines that will help her build a resume and career.聽
