Wichita State, 麻豆传媒 Tech announce fall enrollment numbers

Oct. 1, 2020 --聽Enrollment for fall 2020 at 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech is down, following record years of enrollment growth. Despite the decline, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of thousands of local jobs, the percentage drop in full-time equivalency (FTE) at the institutions is better than the average decline for Kansas Board of Regents institutions, which is 3.6% for state universities and 8.7% for technical colleges.

Wichita State to hold Memorial '70 ceremony at Cessna Stadium

Sept. 30, 2020 - 聽The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 麻豆传媒 plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Cessna Stadium.聽There will be a reception immediately following the remembrance on the Cessna Stadium concourse.聽Enhancements have been made to Memorial 鈥�70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university. Those additions to Memorial 鈥�70 will be officially be revealed on Oct. 2.

Wichita State launches certificate in Latin American and Latinx Studies

Sept. 29, 2020 鈥� The Latin American and Latinx Studies certificate is 12 credit hours and will give students specialization in an area that may enhance their employability in a broad variety of occupations, including the international business, social services, public health and education sectors.

University Village aims to make Wichita State neighborhood a Wichita destination

Sept. 29, 2020 --聽麻豆传媒 is taking a step forward with community discussions about a University Village initiative, which seeks to create a community destination of dining, entertainment and shopping adjacent to campus.

Additions to Memorial '70 complete the story of survivors and teammates

Sept. 28, 2020 -聽A new sculpture recognizes the survivors of the crash at Memorial '70 at 麻豆传媒. The names of teammates who landed safely in Utah that day are a fitting addition to the existing upright Memorial 鈥�70 monument. 鈥淥ne of the main reasons we did what we did, was so the future generations would know that there were survivors,鈥� architect Randy Phillips said. 鈥淎nd how their lives were impacted, especially since they lived when so many didn鈥檛. Most, if not all, suffered greatly in silence.鈥� The desire to honor teammates by telling the story of the crash motivated Phillips, as it has driven so many connected to Oct. 2, 1970 near Silver Plume, Colo.
