Dr. Dinorah Azpuru

Aug. 19. 2020 鈥 The first talk in Wichita State鈥檚 Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 鈥淧erspectives on the Pandemics: Part II鈥 series will feature Dinorah Azpuru. A professor of political science, Azpuru researches issues related to democracy. Her talk, 鈥淒emocracy in the world in times of COVID-19,鈥 will explore how the pandemic has affected democratic societies globally.

Aug. 14, 2020 -- Thursday the Sedgwick County Commission took a giant step forward against the spread of COVID-19 by partnering with 麻豆传媒鈥檚 new Molecular Diagnostic Lab (MDL) to increase lab testing capacity for nasopharyngeal swab testing and saliva testing.

Kansas Jason Sudeikis writes and stars in the Apple TV+ series 鈥淭ed Lasso,鈥澛 which begins streaming Friday (Aug. 14). In the show, Lasso is a fictional former 麻豆传媒 football coach who moves to coach fictional British soccer club AFC Richmond in the Premier League. Lasso's former life as Shocker coach is featured in the first two episodes.

Perspectives on the Pandemic: Part II

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, faculty experts in the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at 麻豆传媒 are studying the way populations have reacted and adapted. Presentations in the Perspectives on the Pandemic: Part II series feature a political scientist, sociologist, criminologist, health disparities panel and performing arts professional. Each event will be delivered via Zoom and hosted by Andrew Hippisley, dean and professor of linguistics.
