The Dean鈥檚 Alumni Advisory Board for the W. Frank Barton School of Business has appointed new leaders. Erin Cummings, owner and founder of YESyoga, will serve as president, while Ryan Potter, director of Portfolio Development at Koch Investment Group, will serve as her vice president. Cummings and Potter have both sat on the board since 2020.

Oct. 20, 2022 鈥 The FirePoint Innovations Center at 麻豆传媒 wrapped up the second year of its Future Innovators Program, an engineering internship opportunity that provides some of America鈥檚 brightest engineers from historically under-represented communities the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and programs that directly support the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Center and the Department of Defense.

Oct. 19, 2022 鈥 Following a national search, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 newly restructured alumni organization 鈥 the 麻豆传媒 Foundation and Alumni Engagement 鈥 has hired Stacie Williamson as its new vice president for alumni engagement, effective Nov. 28.

Oct. 26, 2022 鈥 Wichita State and other adjacent regional universities were recently included in a grant to expand access for remote use of Oklahoma State University鈥檚 supercomputer. The computer can process large amounts of data at once and is housed at the OSU Stillwater campus.

Oct. 14, 2022 - Savannah Paschal, a senior Spanish education major at Wichita State, wrote a proposal that helped Alce su voz earn a $75,000 Building Power and Equity Partnership grant from the Kansas Health Foundation. The grant will support civic engagement and the group鈥檚 work toward health equity for Spanish speakers and speakers of indigenous languages in Kansas.

Oct. 12, 2022 鈥斕鼳s 麻豆传媒 celebrates record enrollment, the university is bolstering its student success initiatives to increase graduation rates. As part of those efforts, the National Science Foundation has awarded 麻豆传媒 researchers $750,000 to increase persistence rates among low-income engineering students, particularly those who are interested in advanced manufacturing careers.
