Feb. 11, 2021 鈥 Eight high school seniors have been named Klose Scholars after the annual Doris and Ralph Klose Scholars Day competition, which was held remotely this year.

Feb. 9, 2021 鈥 Trinity Soderstrom, who recently received her U.S. high school diploma while living abroad in southern Italy, has been awarded the 2021 麻豆传媒 Clay Barton Scholarship.

Feb. 3, 2021 鈥 Dr. R茅mi A. Chou, an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, has been awarded a National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the most prestigious award granted by the NSF to early career researchers. Chou's grant 鈥 worth $519,000 over five years 鈥 will support his work in bringing more robust security to wirelessly transmitted data.

Feb. 3, 2021 鈥 Kapow! Zap! Pop! Zoinks! A 麻豆传媒 researcher is working to develop an app to make those words come alive for visually impaired comic book readers. Dr. Darren DeFrain, associate professor of English and director of Wichita State鈥檚 Writing Program, has recently been granted $11,000 from the John A. See Innovation Award to develop Vizling.

Feb. 1, 2021 鈥 Five minutes of scrolling through social media, and it鈥檚 evident that many people need a lesson in civil discourse. 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is working to change that through Real Talk discussions to promote respectful dialogue among people with varying viewpoints.
