Set against a backdrop of political turmoil and bureaucratic red tape, “The Consul” tells the harrowing story of Magda Sorel, a woman desperate to secure a visa for her family to escape a totalitarian regime. Menotti’s masterful score and poignant libretto combine to create a deeply emotional and thought-provoking experience that will resonate with audiences.

Under the direction of Alan Held, the 麻豆传媒 Opera Theater brings this compelling story to life with a talented cast of students.
