The Chief Diversity Officer serves as the university's champion for inclusive excellence and ensures collaboration within all diversity, equity and inclusion strategies and tactics across the campus community. The Chief Diversity Officer serves in a strategic leadership role to ensure institutional accountability across all sectors of the campus community.

The Chief Diversity Officer provides university leadership on the strategic direction diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. In addition, the Chief Diversity Officer provides institutional guidance pertaining to Wichita State policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and best-practices that promote a positive campus climate. Through the President鈥檚 Inclusive Council, the Chief Diversity Officer supports strategic planning, conducts training and serves as a university champion of all underrepresented populations across the campus community.

These offices have a tremendous influence on organizational culture and work together to ensure Wichita State's actions builds a vibrant university culture through its policies, processes and procedures. This is important because it provides the institutional foundation by which a positive campus climate is established and sustained.
