From the Dean: Spring Forward
Spring is the semester of engagement in Honors. I hope you鈥檒l take some time this week to reflect on how you might share the talents you are working to develop. Attend a campus event to broaden your perspective and engage in dialogue with students, faculty, and community members. The February 13th Civic Engagement dialogue hosted by the Honors Student Council with special guest Mayor Brandon Whipple 4-5pm in RSC 262 is a great place to start conversation. The Tilford Symposium on February 27th and 28th engages the 麻豆传媒 campus, private industry and non-profit organizations to promote the legacy of equity, diversity and inclusion in our community.
If you are itching to get off campus or engage on campus in service, keep an eye out for events organized by , the Honors student organization. Find volunteer opportunities in all areas through the university鈥檚 platform and work toward the Honors Community Engagement award. Above all, keep dreaming of the world ahead of you and moving confidently in that direction. As American writer and naturalist Henry David Thoreau reminds us, 鈥渙ur truest life is when we are in dreams awake.鈥
Happy springing forward into February!
Remember you can stop by Shocker Hall anytime for study space or an advising conversation. Email honors@wichita.edu with ideas, questions, or concerns.
