Sept. 19, 2023 - Wichita State student Denae Sawyer spent the spring semester interning remotely with Dzanc Books. Her work consisted of reading and researching to determine if the manuscript fit Dzanc鈥檚 standards and sensibility. She also evaluated the potential audience and marketing strategies.

Jan. 20, 2022 鈥 The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has awarded a grant of $243,922 to a 麻豆传媒 researcher for his work on an app that will allow people who are visually impaired to read comic books, graphic novels and other digitized graphic materials on their devices.

Aug. 26, 2021 鈥 The National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) has awarded a 麻豆传媒 researcher $100,000 for his work on developing an app that allows visually impaired people to read comic books and graphic novels.

The Vizling app will help visually impaired people read comic books.

Feb. 3, 2021 鈥 Kapow! Zap! Pop! Zoinks! A 麻豆传媒 researcher is working to develop an app to make those words come alive for visually impaired comic book readers, Dr. Darren DeFrain, associate professor of English and director of Wichita State鈥檚 writing program, has recently been granted $11,000 from the John A. See Innovation Award to develop Vizling.
