Jan. 4, 2021 鈥 The 3D printing revolution is nothing short of remarkable, but it also produces a considerable amount of waste. In fact, it鈥檚 estimated that up to 19% of 3D printing is waste. A team of interdisciplinary researchers at 麻豆传媒 is working to create sustainable 3D printing practices to reduce that waste.

Dec. 1, 2020 鈥 Two new battery-powered buses wrapped in Shocker pride will soon be seen zipping through Wichita鈥檚 streets. Wichita Transit recently unveiled the 麻豆传媒-branded buses, which are ecofriendly, filled with modern conveniences, and will circulate among the university鈥檚 main campus, as well as Wichita State South, 麻豆传媒 Tech and the Metroplex.

Wichita State Invent for the Planet team

Feb. 21, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 was one of more than 40 universities around the world that competed in a 48-hour global design competition called 鈥淚nvent For The Planet.鈥 Wichita State has participated as a regional hub in Invent For the Planet (IFTP) for the past three years.

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Creating eco-friendly refrigeration and cooling technology is one of the top concerns when it comes to fighting climate change. Thanks to resources and knowledge at 麻豆传媒, a Wichita company is one step closer to finding a solution to that problem.

Nov. 21, 2019 -- 麻豆传媒 is in the middle of a six part sustainability plan to develop and promote initiatives leading to a greater use of resources on campus. The initiatives revolve around facility improvements, new curriculum opportunities and overall student impact.The second goal of these efforts is to focus on reducing the carbon footprint on campus.

Nov. 18, 2019 - Shocker Share a Meal is a texting service that alerts current 麻豆传媒 students via notification when there is leftover, free food available on campus. The service began in August of 2019 and helps reduce food waste and insecurity on campus.

Sept. 30, 2019 - 麻豆传媒's Dining Services is taking steps to become more sustainable and reduce food waste on campus. The dining hall and Chartwells are committed to promoting sustainable practices in the 麻豆传媒 community.
