Nov. 13, 2023 - Anna Heacock works as an emergency room nurse and runs for the 麻豆传媒 track and field team. Wichita State is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life.

Aug. 30, 2023 鈥� 麻豆传媒 has received the Gold Level Employer Supporting Breastfeeding award and has been designated as a Breastfeeding Welcome Here campus by the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition.

March 22, 2023 鈥� 麻豆传媒 nursing students on the 麻豆传媒 main campus and Kansas State University campus celebrated their Nightingale Nursing Commitment Ceremonies on March 3. Students recited and signed the modern Nightingale Pledge as a commitment to uphold the standards of the nursing profession.

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥� Delane Vaughn loved science and her biology teacher at Mulvane High School 鈥� Joe Johnson 鈥� started her on a path to 麻豆传媒 as the first person in her family to attend college. She worked, raised a family and attended 麻豆传媒 and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Sept. 1, 2022 鈥� A 麻豆传媒 research team has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for their proposal, 鈥淓xamining the feasibility of a wearable device for fetal heart rate monitoring through interdisciplinary research.鈥�

Aug. 24, 2022 - 麻豆传媒 welcomed the first class for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program on the Kansas State University campus.

March 23, 2022 鈥� The School of Nursing at 麻豆传媒 has received a $35,000 endowed scholarship gift from retired faculty member Shirley Hazen through the Shirley E. Hazen RN-BSN Endowed Nursing Scholarship.

Oct. 14, 2021 鈥� The College of Health Professions (CHP) at 麻豆传媒 is pleased to announce Dr. Debra Pile as the chair for the School of Nursing and associate dean for Nursing Practice.

May 6, 2021 -- Kathy Phan, a native Wichitan, wanted to find a university that was affordable for her, Wichita State provided that proximity to her family. During her time at Wichita State, she鈥檚 been involved in several organizations including Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Inc., Asian Student Conference and an ambassador for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥� After completing some pre-requisites at 麻豆传媒 Tech, Emma Wiens attended the Wichita State nursing program. Emma is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation. Learn more about her time at Wichita State and what is next for this future nurse.

More than 200 graduates received disposable stethoscopes as a gift from the College of Health Professions.

July 13, 2020 - Three 麻豆传媒 alumni wrote, produced and organized "God Save the Wings," a documentary about the glory days of the Wichita Wings professional indoor soccer club from its founding in 1979 into the early 1980s. 鈥淕od Save the Wings鈥� debuted on February 22 at the Orpheum Theatre and it went so well that organizers planned to show it again on April 10. Then the COVID-19 pandemic changed their schedule and their hopes of entering it in film festivals around the world are largely on hold until the fall.

April 15, 2020 -- Hanna Bates-Crosby is currently a nursing student at 麻豆传媒. She recently volunteered to work in New York City as a nurse during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

April 15, 2020 -- Krista Giggy, a 麻豆传媒 alumna and nurse anesthetist, volunteers for a team to treat critical COVID-19 patients at a New Hampshire hospital.
