Dec. 7, 2020 鈥� Ten 麻豆传媒 political science students were recently accepted into the Washington, D.C. and Topeka Internship Program. The program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to earn nine course credits while interning in D.C. or Topeka.

November 23, 2020 - In February, Evergy invested in three initiatives that added valuable assets to the engineering program. One of those initiatives was the installation of solar panels on the roof of the John Bardo Center.

Nov. 16, 2020 鈥� A diverse team of Wichita State students spent four weeks finalizing a proposal for the NASA SUITS design challenge, a competition created to get college students to participate in NASA's Artemis mission.

Ya-Aida Sillah, a health management major from Wichita, took a lead role in 鈥淢ask Up!,鈥� a Department of Public Health Sciences group project designed to help students understand COVID-19 and health protection. Answers revealed four areas commonly misunderstood. 鈥� Some students did not know that fleece and gaiter-style masks are not recommended for preventing the spread of COVID-19. 鈥� Some students assumed a person鈥檚 vulnerability to COVID-19 would be visible. In many cases, a person鈥檚 vulnerability to the virus may be hidden. 鈥� Some students were unaware that nausea and vomiting are potential symptoms. 鈥� Some students did not know that monitoring for fever and other symptoms daily is recommended.

November 12, 2020 - Hacking for Defense is a social and behavioral science elective course made for undergraduates and graduates of all majors.

Oct. 28, 2020 - Tyler Pennick, director of videography for Wichita State鈥檚 Office of Strategic Communications, created a documentary about WuShock in bronze. After two years of development, the documentary was accepted into the Tallgrass Film Festival and awarded for its success.

Oct. 27, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 students Jessica Sharp, a junior accounting major, and Marissa Sanders, a senior human resources management major, are applying their education to hands-on experience in their internships at Allen, Gibbs & Houlik.

Sept. 10, 2020 -- Deloitte and 麻豆传媒 today announced the launch of The Smart Factory @ Wichita, a groundbreaking and immersive experiential learning environment that will accelerate the future of manufacturing as innovation and new technologies continue to reshape operations and the modern enterprise.

August 26, 2020 - ATLAS is a multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment and engineering education program that launched in the spring semester of 2019.

Aug. 26, 2020 鈥� 麻豆传媒 has been named a founding member of a newly formed AI Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning (IFML), established by a $20 million grant from the National Science Foundation.

Aug. 10, 2020 鈥� From high-tech aerospace engineering to movie theater popcorn, Shocker Studios鈥� animation students are building diverse portfolios of work. Through 麻豆传媒鈥檚 partnerships, animators-in-training have been able to gain practical experience with industry leaders, such as Spirit AeroSystems.

August 7, 2020 鈥� Applied computing student Noah Sentry and biomedical engineering student Leah Fisher are part of a student team in ENGR 302. From a list provided by Samantha, Noah and Leah chose to use their skills to help Sutton, a 6-year-old with cerebral palsy. 5/05/20

Aug. 5, 2020 -- In an effort to help diversify and grow the economy 鈥� while providing an important platform for creating new academic and applied programs for students 鈥� 麻豆传媒 is moving forward on a facility to house the National Institute for Digital Transformation (NIDT) as part of its Convergence Sciences initiative.

July 27, 2020 - 麻豆传媒 student Kristen Bruce works as a software tester for Flint Hills Group, founded by Shocker alum Dave Cunningham. Over the past year, Bruce played an important role in Flint Hills Group鈥檚 work with McAlister, a fuel distributor and wholesaler in Wellington. McAlister needed to replace its software used to monitor fuel flow for billing. Bruce helped Flint Hills Group beat coming issues and move to a new system, while some of McAlister鈥檚 competition encountered problems.

July 23, 2020 鈥� The Advanced Robotics Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, which receives funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, recently awarded Wichita State $250,000 to assist in creating a workforce development database focused on compiling a map of educational programs and resources that provide skills required for today鈥檚 advanced robotics and manufacturing careers.
