Dec. 5, 2022 鈥� 麻豆传媒 earned status as an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution when fall enrollment numbers show that 16% of students identify as Hispanic. That is an important milestone on the way to the university鈥檚 goal of reaching the 25% necessary to earn designation as an HSI by the end of this decade.

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥� Delane Vaughn loved science and her biology teacher at Mulvane High School 鈥� Joe Johnson 鈥� started her on a path to 麻豆传媒 as the first person in her family to attend college. She worked, raised a family and attended 麻豆传媒 and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Nov. 15, 2022 鈥� Wichita State's Jonathan Folkerts, Jarred Novak and Trent English presented papers on the design of their neutrino detector prototype at the International Astronautical Congress in Paris, representing the NASA-funded Solar Neutrino Orbiting Laboratory Detector Development Project.

Oct. 19, 2022 鈥� Following a national search, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 newly restructured alumni organization 鈥� the 麻豆传媒 Foundation and Alumni Engagement 鈥� has hired Stacie Williamson as its new vice president for alumni engagement, effective Nov. 28.

Oct. 12, 2022 鈥斅燗s 麻豆传媒 celebrates record enrollment, the university is bolstering its student success initiatives to increase graduation rates. As part of those efforts, the National Science Foundation has awarded 麻豆传媒 researchers $750,000 to increase persistence rates among low-income engineering students, particularly those who are interested in advanced manufacturing careers.

Oct. 3, 2022 鈥� A research team led by researchers with Wichita State鈥檚 College of Engineering and Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their proposal, "The Development of a Smart Telehealth ECG and Human Activity Monitoring System to Improve Cardiovascular health of Older Adults."

Sept. 15, 2022 鈥� An interdisciplinary team of 麻豆传媒 researchers is working to curb pollution and damage caused by road salt. The project 鈥� ECO-CBET: Convergent Electrolysis-Electrodialysis System (CEES) to Curb Urban Chloride Pollution by Eco-friendly Road Deicing and Waste Salt Upcycling 鈥� was recently awarded $1.4 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Sept. 2, 2022 鈥� The U.S. Department of Commerce鈥檚 Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced today will award $51.4 million to 麻豆传媒 to aid in the rapid development and adoption of emerging smart manufacturing technologies for South Kansas.

Sept. 1, 2022 鈥� A 麻豆传媒 research team has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for their proposal, 鈥淓xamining the feasibility of a wearable device for fetal heart rate monitoring through interdisciplinary research.鈥�

Aug. 26, 2022 鈥� Wichita State鈥檚 Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentations program (NSF MRI) for a 500 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer.

Designed to 鈥渞emind the country of the humanity in all of us,鈥� One Small Step brings together people with different political views together to record a moderated 50-minute conversation.

Aug. 12, 2022 - Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall, the state-of-the-art facility that will be home to the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒, is set to open for classes Aug. 22.
