Fall 2023 enrollments for 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech

Sept. 27, 2023 鈥 麻豆传媒's efforts to transform the educational experience for students and redefine the role of a university to foster statewide economic growth have yielded remarkable results: the highest enrollment in its 128-year history.

Sept. 26, 2023 - Kian Williams, a junior at 麻豆传媒, is helping the Kansas Aviation Museum chart its future. The work researching aviation connects with the background that shaped a love for history. Williams volunteered at the Reno County Museum as a youngster.

Sept. 25, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Bayle Sandy found a sense of community at 麻豆传媒 and enjoyed support from many sources for her academic and extracurricular pursuits. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Wichita STate's Innovation Campus

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 The U.S. Small Business Administration awarded $150,000 to 麻豆传媒 to assist in providing resources and support for small businesses and startups focused on STEM and research and development.

Denae Sawyer

Sept. 19, 2023 - Wichita State student Denae Sawyer spent the spring semester interning remotely with Dzanc Books. Her work consisted of reading and researching to determine if the manuscript fit Dzanc鈥檚 standards and sensibility. She also evaluated the potential audience and marketing strategies.

Two Hands Corn Dogs at Braeburn Square

Sept. 18, 2023 鈥 The community will soon have a new restaurant to choose from when Two Hands Corn Dogs opens on 麻豆传媒鈥檚 campus Friday, Sept. 22.

Sept. 14, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Alia Michaelis studied in a hospital in Argentina and works in biochemical research lab while at 麻豆传媒. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Sept.14, 2023 - Amy Nguyen uses the Rudd Scholars networking and mentoring programs at Wichita State. She made lifelong friends and participated in numerous campus activities. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Students in parade

Sept. 11, 2023 鈥 麻豆传媒 is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the 麻豆传媒 campus, the parade is part of the university鈥檚 annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

Students working on handrails for Koch Arena

Sept. 5, 2023 - 麻豆传媒 students designed handrails for Charles Koch Arena and producing around 400 for installation. The applied learning project will make walking up the arena stairs safer for fans and is a response to surveys and listening sessions.

Aug. 15, 2023 - Hannah Bui is now prepared to work with French-speaking colleagues at Airbus, thanks to 鈥淏usiness French for Beginners鈥 taught by 麻豆传媒 lecturer Rachelle Swilley. Bui, a static stress engineer at Airbus, was one of about 15 employees who took the six-week course, taught for two hours each Friday, this summer at Airbus on 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Innovation Campus.

Aug. 4, 2023 鈥 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech are key drivers of economic growth, fueling job creation, fostering industry partnerships, and supporting local businesses 鈥 and the numbers prove it. According to the 2022 Economic Impact Study, 麻豆传媒 and 麻豆传媒 Tech鈥檚 total economic impact in Kansas in 2021 was $1.3 billion.

Aug. 1, 2023 鈥 The Wichita City Council approved a plan today that will move forward a project between 麻豆传媒 and the University of Kansas to build a 471,000-square-foot health sciences center in the heart of downtown Wichita.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six 麻豆传媒 colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme 鈥淐onnected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.鈥 Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

Applied engineering student

July 17, 2023 鈥 麻豆传媒鈥檚 College of Engineering has updated one of its programs to create a more strategic career pathway for its graduates and meet the needs of business and industry. Effective fall 2023, the new applied engineering program 鈥 formerly engineering technology 鈥 has been adapted based on feedback from employers and alumni.
