Now the Wichita couple is enhancing that legacy with a $1 million gift to 麻豆传媒 to give students of color opportunities they otherwise might not have.

July 7, 2020 -- Nearly 70 years after John and Colleen Wooley first met as students at the University of Wichita, they have established a legacy that will touch the lives of 麻豆传媒 students for generations to come. The couple鈥檚 $2.2 million estate gift will provide more than $100,000 in scholarships each year for students with financial need.

May 7, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 is proud to recognize Irene Campos as the winner of the 2020 Mark and Stacy Parkinson Scholarship.

The Wichita State Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College is proud to announce eight recipients of the Koch Scholars program for the fall 2020 semester. Each of the students will receive between $30,000 and $45,000 during their four-year attendance at 麻豆传媒.

Feb. 24, 2020 -- Five high school seniors were named Doris and Ralph Klose Scholars as part of the Klose Scholars Day at 麻豆传媒.

Feb. 7 2020 -- Ten high school seniors have won the 2020 Wallace Scholarship in engineering to attend 麻豆传媒.

Feb. 7, 2020 -- Austin Rea, a senior from Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas, has won the 2020 麻豆传媒 Clay Barton Scholarship.

Feb. 5, 2019 -- Bryant Lewis from Olathe Kansas received the Linwood Sexton Endowed Scholarship in 2019. The full-ride scholarship allowed him to pursue his dream of attending 麻豆传媒.

Feb. 4, 2020 -- Eduardo Avila, a senior at Liberal High School, has been named the 2020 Linwood Sexton Scholar at Wichita State.

Winners of the 2020 Gore Scholarships to attend Wichita State

Jan. 31, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 has selected the 2020 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 麻豆传媒 in August 2020.

2020 DSI finalists

Jan. 28, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 has selected the top 14 finalists in the annual Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI). Three of the finalists will be selected as recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial $64,000 scholarships, which are among the largest undergraduate awards in the Midwest.

Jan. 16, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 has chosen the top 10 finalists for the Linwood Sexton Endowed Scholarship, a full-ride award geared toward minority students majoring in business or education.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Javier Martinez and Jonathan Lozano hadn鈥檛 even intended to earn Wichita State鈥檚 inaugural Parkinson Scholarship in 2018, but they did. Both first-generation college students share their stories of adversity and triumph and offer words of encouragement for future first-gen college hopefuls.

Nov. 19, 2019 - Many students today must decide between continuing their education, potentially accruing debt to pay off for decades, or finding jobs that don鈥檛 require a college degree. To help with this, Wichita State set aside $1 million to establish the Sedgwick County Access Grant, a need-based financial award for incoming freshmen.
