Sept. 22, 2021 鈥 What started as one woman鈥檚 passion project has flourished into a literacy empire that serves thousands of children in schools across the Wichita area 鈥 helped along the way by the people and services of 麻豆传媒.

Lindsey Harvell-Bowman

July 23, 2021 - Lindsey Harvell-Bowman and Eric Wilson consider themselves aviation geeks. They tease each other about favorite airlines and digest every bit of airplane news and research. It is fitting their friendship began as graduate students at 麻豆传媒, in the Air Capital of the World. Their collaboration continues in Harvell-Bowman's 鈥淭he Psychology and Communication Behind Flight Anxiety: Afraid to Fly,鈥 a book that examines the intersection of journalism, communication, and psychology in affecting the flying public.

Isaac Tan

May 11, 2021 - Isaac Tan came to Wichita State from Malaysia because of the university鈥檚 value and affordability. Isaac is one of more than 3,500 students eligible for spring 2021 graduation. Learn more about his time at Wichita State and what is next for the grad.

Inneke Vargas

Inneke Vargas, from Houston, appreciates the interdisciplinary approach of her liberal arts degree from 麻豆传媒. After graduate school, she wants to work on policy changes to help eliminate health disparities. 鈥淢y research broadly focuses on the effects of mental health stigma, particularly among African Americans, across the lifespan,鈥 she wrote. 鈥淢ore narrowly, I am currently interested in the ways mental health care inequities disproportionately affect minority men during adolescence and very late adulthood.鈥

Carryl Baldwin

Oct. 22, 2020 鈥 Carryl Baldwin, Wichita State鈥檚 Carl and Rozina Cassat Distinguished Professor of Aging, received the 2020 Woman of the Year Award, presented by the Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) Society, Human Factors and Ergonomics Women鈥檚 Organization for Mentorship and Networking.

Dr. Joel Suss teaches cognitive skills training for improving police decision-making.

August 25, 2020 - Dr. Joel Suss is an assistant professor in psychology and the director of ACE at 麻豆传媒. For the past five years, the ACE lab has focused its study on law enforcement.

Cindy Miller earned her Ph.D. and master鈥檚 in human factors from 麻豆传媒.

April 23, 2020 - Wichita State graduate Cindy Miller describes her job with Harley-Davidson as that of an internal consultant who works in all areas of the company. She provides design guidance and conducts testing to deliver ergonomic, usability and user experience performance.聽 鈥淚t鈥檚 important for a rider to feel comfortable, as well as confident,鈥 she said.

Inneke Vargas

Feb. 27, 2020 -- Inneke Vargas, a senior studying psychology with a minor in criminal justice, returned to 麻豆传媒 after working in various industries. She found psychology after realizing the stigmas found in minorities. Through her research she hopes to make an impact on those affected my mental illness.

University Innovation Fellows

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Stanford University鈥檚 Hasso Plattner Institute of Design has named three Wichita State students as University Innovation Fellows. Jacob Burns, Molly Carlson and Savannah Redfern will join more than 2,000 Fellows at 267 institutions worldwide.

Madison Davis

Dec. 3, 2019 -- Madison Davis involved herself in multiple clubs and organizations while attending Wichita State. She took advantage of the different hands-on learning experiences and internships offered, which helped her grasp the concepts being taught. In January, she plans on attending graduate school and work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

May 13, 2019 -- After dropping out of high school and working her way back to a GED, Karen Abshire-Gordon wasn't sure she was college material. This month, she graduates with a bachelor's in psychology from 麻豆传媒.
