Three 麻豆传媒 freshmen created Everwhen, meant to be a low-cost and time saving way to identify which available spots in parking lots.

May 18, 2022 鈥 Three 麻豆传媒 students were named the champions of the 2022 Koch Innovation Challenge with their idea to ease parking frustrations via an app called Everwhen.

2022 Wallace Scholars

March 25, 2022 鈥斅犅槎勾解檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program. Ten Wallace Scholarship recipients will receive $28,500 each to attend Wichita State for four years. In addition, two students receiving other major university scholarships will be designated as Wallace Scholars.

Bhisham Sharma, an assistant professor in aerospace engineering, and Shuang Gu, an associate professor in the department of mechanical engineering, two recipients of John A. See Innovation Award.

March 14, 2022鈥擳wo Wichita State researchers and a student group have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award. The award is given each year as a way to recognize novel ideas that have the potential to meet a market need and attract further funding once they have advanced through the early prototyping phase.

Feb. 21, 2022 鈥 A proposal submitted by an interdisciplinary 麻豆传媒 team of seven members was selected for the top 10 in the 2021-22 NASA Space Suit Interface Technologies for Students (SUITS) Design Challenge.

March 24, 2021 鈥 Brittany Wojciechowski, a 麻豆传媒 Ph.D. student in aerospace engineering, has been awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation鈥檚 (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF), which is worth more than $120,000.

Prince Yengbe

Feb. 18, 2021 鈥 When Prince Yengbe came to 麻豆传媒 from his home country of Ghana in 2007, he wasn鈥檛 entirely sure what aerospace engineering was, but he knew he wanted to be part of it. Now, after earning a bachelor鈥檚 (2012) and a master鈥檚 degree (2015) in the subject, Yengbe is being honored with the Modern-Day Technology Leader Award by the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) STEM Conference.

Feb. 18, 2021 -- The National Science Foundation has released its latest comparison of research and development expenditures among the nation鈥檚 universities, and 麻豆传媒 has risen in all categories, increasing expenditures by $47 million.

Claudia Rojo

May 13, 2020 - Claudia Rojo graduates this spring and will begin a graduate research assistantship at the National Institute for Aviation Research while finishing her final season of outdoor track eligibility in 2021. Rojo, like all seniors in spring sports, was granted the option to extend their eligibility after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled spring sports. In 2019, she finished second in the heptathlon in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

April 24, 2020 -- When Lucas Webb and Aliyah Funschelle received honors at the 麻豆传媒 Innovation Awards in January, their Bright Futures awards couldn鈥檛 have been more on the nose.

Winners of the 2020 Gore Scholarships to attend Wichita State

Jan. 31, 2020 -- 麻豆传媒 has selected the 2020 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 麻豆传媒 in August 2020.

Jan. 2, 2020 - At FirePoint, 麻豆传媒 students work with Army officials, private industry and academics. The combination of experience, exposure to those areas and networking puts students in position to consider different career paths.

Sept. 9, 2019 -- Aerospace engineering senior Khristian Jones interned at Mojave Air and Space Port in California this summer through the Brooke Owens Fellowship program. Among the many experiences she received in her internship, she flew with a Space Shuttle commander and spoke with the NASA administrator.

Aug. 26, 2019 - Pardhasai Chadalavada, a graduate student seeking a doctorate degree in aerospace engineering, and Atri Dutta, an assistant aerospace engineering professor, recently received a grant from NASA鈥檚 Earth and Space Science and Technology program.
