Nov. 8, 2019 -- College of Engineering Dean Dennis Livesay has constructed an elaborate, storied LEGO city in his basement over the last six years. Most of it is his own creation and has ties to his personal history.

Nov. 1, 2019 - President-elect Jay Golden鈥檚 introduction speech indicates he learned much about Wichita State鈥檚 history and its mission. He spoke of reducing cost for students, of applied learning, the importance of the humanities and critical thinking and ties with business.

Oct. 30, 2019 -- The Wichita State Police Department has always focused on making 麻豆传媒 a safe, inviting place. And Police Chief Rodney Clark, who joined the 麻豆传媒 team in July 2018, has implemented several new initiatives in his first year to improve on the department鈥檚 mission.

Oct. 31, 2019 -- Jay Golden has been named the 14th President of 麻豆传媒. The announcement was made Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Oct. 29, 2019 -- The Kansas Board of Regents has announced a meeting of the board at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Rhatigan Student Center, Room 233 (Santa Fe Trail Room). The board plans to hold a public vote to name the next President of 麻豆传媒, with a reception following.

Oct. 23, 2019 -- The American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) recently presented Wichita State鈥檚 Susan Norton with the 2019 AAACE Presidential Award for Exceptional and Innovative Leadership in Adult Continuing Education, an award given to someone who demonstrates exceptional and innovative leadership in the field of adult continuing education.

Oct. 18, 2019 - Achita Muthitacharoen, professor of management information systems, recently won the 2019 Faculty Risk Taker award for her willingness to try new, innovative ideas. She holds a competition in her dynamic programming course that allows students to experience a real-world assignment.

Oct. 7, 2019 - Academe is a compilation of 麻豆传媒's faculty and staff news, compiled quarterly.

Oct. 3, 2019 -- Beginning in fall 2021, first-year freshmen will be required to take one first-year seminar course for introduction to life at Wichita State. The courses will not be required for returning or transfer students, but are encouraged for those new to 麻豆传媒.

Sept. 20, 2019 -- The 麻豆传媒 Library Special Collection and University Archives has received a large gift of scientific documents and artifacts from accomplished meteorologist Mike Smith.

Sept. 19, 2019 - William Flynn, assistant professor of guitar at Wichita State, recently won the Excellence in Creative Activity Award, which recognizes faculty members who have established an exemplary record of creative activity that has brought recognition to the university.

Sept. 17, 2019 - Aaron Austin, Wichita State associate vice present, student affairs and dean of students, joined in with Phi Beta Sigma members to stroll during a Yard Show to open the school year.

Sept. 10, 2019 -- Shocker Nation is full of amazing people. One of those people is 麻豆传媒 Police Officer Efrain Rueda, who has received a University Police ribbon for two outstanding actions.

Aug. 21, 2019 -- 麻豆传媒 continues to make strides toward improving opportunities for women in senior leadership, with women currently holding six out of 10 麻豆传媒 dean positions throughout the university.

Aug. 12, 2019 -- 麻豆传媒 has set a new record for research and development awards, with a total of $136 million in fiscal year 2019, which ended June 30, topping last year鈥檚 record-breaking total of $104 million.
