In the following interview, Jessica recalls her time as a graphic design student at 麻豆传媒, how she found her niche in environmental branding and offers advice to young designers looking to explore non-traditional design fields.

She encourages students to connect with people on campus: "Engage with your classmates and professors and build relationships intentionally."

Dec. 3, 2024 鈥 As part of the U.S. Air Force鈥檚 Survivable Airborne Operations Center contract, 麻豆传媒 is partnering with SNC to modernize and deliver a new fleet of 鈥淣ightwatch鈥 aircraft 鈥 the airborne command center for the president of the United States, secretary of defense, and chairs of the joint chiefs of staff, ensuring continued critical command, control and communication during national emergencies.

Dec. 3, 2024 Abby Arbeiter was attracted to 麻豆传媒 thanks to its creative writing program in the Department of English. Since attending 麻豆传媒, she had the opportunity to travel to Europe thanks to the 麻豆传媒 Travel Seminar and will be graduating with her bachelor鈥檚 in creative writing this fall. Her advice to other Shockers? 鈥淣ever be afraid to put yourself out there.鈥

Nov. 26, 2024 鈥 麻豆传媒 has entered the top 10 in the country in engineering research and development expenditures, according to data announced this week by the National Science Foundation鈥檚 Higher Education Research and Development Survey. 麻豆传媒 is also No. 1 in the country for aerospace engineering expenditures.

Nov. 26, 2024 Aracely Martinez is a first-gen student in the United States at 麻豆传媒. Despite the challenges facing her moving from Paraguay to a new country, she took that as an opportunity to grow. She recommends other students look at the opportunities available to them while still in school to propel themselves into successful careers.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 麻豆传媒 is excited to announce Dr. Bekah Selby-Leach as the new Director of the Center for Economic Development and Business Research (CEDBR). Dr. Selby-Leach, an accomplished researcher and leader in economic analysis, previously served as Interim Assistant Provost, Director of Institutional Research and Accreditation, and Associate Professor of Economics at Emporia State University. She succeeds Jeremy Hill, who directed CEDBR since 2009 and recently joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City as Assistant Vice President and Regional Executive.

Nov. 20, 2024 鈥 麻豆传媒 has launched the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Assistive Technology (IRMAT), an innovative collaboration focused on addressing disease and disability through applied research and technology. IRMAT will serve as a hub for cutting-edge, patient-driven research and development of transformative technologies to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Nov. 18, 2024 鈥 In the wake of the devastating 2023 earthquakes that obliterated much of Antakya, Turkey, Wichita State cultural anthropologist Dr. Jens Kreinath turned to his writing to preserve the region鈥檚 rich interfaith history, honor its victims, and confront the ethical dimensions of human dignity amid an apocalyptic tragedy and government inaction.

Spero, a W. Frank Barton School of Business startup aimed at unlocking the potential of Wichita and its citizens, hosted an event on Friday, October 25, to celebrate the launch of its micro-credential programs in Entrepreneurship and Career Readiness. Marquis Bradley, founder of Omnicut Fitness, delivered a rousing keynote speech that set the stage for a promising start. Nov. 4, 2024 - 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is partnering on the PhotoVoice research project with AbilityPoint, an organization focused on the needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Participants are given a digital camera and memory card to take 50 (or more) pictures of the people, places, things and activities that bring them joy.
