The arts deserve to be recognized alongside science, technology, engineering and math as disciplines driving the future. I have been talking and writing about STEM for years. Now STEAM has replaced STEM.

July 12, 2018 -- Wichita State student Mary Alexis Wirths is spending her summer interning with Harvester Arts, a nonprofit organization that brings artists from across the nation for two-week residencies in Wichita.

May 23, 2018 - Intro to Community & Social Practice, taught by ShiftSpace Gallery Director Kristin Beal, is designed for students to explore artists and methods of art practice that extend into communities and the "social" realm.

A record 100 campers are attending 麻豆传媒 engineering camps, paying only $10 each, thanks to scholarships funded by private camp sponsors.

May 24, 2018 -- Student aerospace engineering teams work hard every year to develop a functioning aircraft that will fly and complete a mission in the annual Bronze Propeller Competition.

May 17, 2018 -- Abdul-Mannaan Giles was selected out of 400 national entries to present his study about diagnosing early-stage Alzheimer's to members of Congress on Capitol Hill. He also presented his research project regarding aerobic exercise in early-stage Alzheimer's patients at the Harvard University National Collegiate Research Conference.

May 16, 2018 - Wichita oil producer Wayne Woolsey and his wife, Kay, have committed $10 million to build a new home for the 麻豆传媒's Barton School of Business. The couple also will donate $2 million to the 麻豆传媒 Geology Department.

April 19, 2018 -聽麻豆传媒 physics professor Nickolas Solomey won one of NASA's coveted Innovation and Advanced Concept Awards (NIAC) for his research to create a neutrino detector for close sun orbit.

April 17, 2018 --聽 Michaela Marioni, a junior majoring in game design, contributed her video editing talents to a background video for Snoop Dogg's current tour. The opportunity was given to her by award-winning designer and 麻豆传媒 alum, Michael Downs.
