The theme for this year's conference is Navigating School Nurse Practice Toward Brighter Futures. Our goal is to empower school nurses to chart a course for student health and success through transformative nursing practices. This theme highlights the important role of school nurses as navigators, guiding and directing care in an ever-changing landscape, while emphasizing growth, opportunity, and the pursuit of brighter futures for their students.

1. School or District Funding
  • Professional Development Budget: Check if the school or district has a budget for continuing education.
  • Title II or Title IV Funds: Federal education funds sometimes cover professional development for school staff.
  • Parent-Teacher Association (PTA/PTO): Some PTAs allocate funds for staff training. This may also be true for organizations such as the Lion's Club.
2. Grants and Scholarships
  • National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Grants: NASN offers funding opportunities for members.
  • Education and Healthcare Foundations: Organizations like the American Nurses Foundation or Robert Wood Johnson Foundation may have relevant grants.
3. Employer or Healthcare Partnerships
  • Local Hospitals or Health Departments: They may sponsor nurses for training that benefits the community.
  • Pharmaceutical or Medical Supply Companies: Some companies provide scholarships for healthcare education.
