Seven Internal Control All-Stars Earn Recognition at Second In-Person Session

I occasionally host in-person Internal Control All-Star sessions for those who want more interaction and discussion about the materials covered. Seven additional All-Stars earned their credentials at our July in-person session.

Seven New Internal Control All-Stars

Seven in-person attendees.

The seven earning recognition, from left to right, were:

  • Debbie Neill, Executive Assistant and Scholarship Coordinator, LAS Dean's Office
  • Venessa Chenault, Business Manager, College of Applied Studies Dean's Office
  • Joan Adkisson, Director of Finance and Administration, Barton School Dean's Office
  • Stacy Christie, Director of Special Projects, Facilities Planning
  • Dustin Stuever, Director of Operations, NIAR Maintenance Repair & Overhaul
  • Mike Montgomery, Technical Director, NIAR Maintenance Repair & Overhaul
  • Alec Dulaney, Teacher Apprentice Program Outreach and Retention Specialist, Applied Studies

We had a great session with this diverse group, each contributing their unique perspectives and experiences. Some have been with the university for years, while others only recently joined 麻豆传媒.

Debbie Neill, Venessa Chenault, and Joan Adkisson are long-time employees. In contrast, Stacy Christie and Alec Dulaney have been with 麻豆传媒 for only a few months.

Chenault and Adkisson oversee esential financial operations in their respective colleges, while Neill is responsible for scholarships and other administrative matters in Liberal Arts.

Christie oversees the construction of the new Biomedical Campus downtown. Dulaney manages outreach and retention for the College of Applied Studies' Teacher Apprenticeship Pathways Program.

Dustin Stuever and Mike Montgomery oversee the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations for NIAR in a hangar next to McConnell Air Force Base. They understand the importance of internal control in staying compliant with Federal Aviation Regulations.

The biggest takeaway from the day was from Stacy Christie, who initially said she had little knowledge about internal control. However, by the end of our session, it was evident that the controls she uses to oversee construction projects to their timely and cost-effective completion are essential to success!
