Location

Okayama, Japan

Okayama Prefecture is located in the center of West Japan and is particularly blessed with good weather. As the climate is very mild, with low rainfall, this area has thriving agriculture, specializing in fruit products. Rich marine products are provided by the Seto Inland Sea, which offers picturesque views in the region. Conveniently located, Okayama has thrived, and is known for its history and cultural achievements. Osaka and Kyoto are located less than an hour away by shinkansen(bullet train), and Tokyo slightly more than 3 hours.

Academics

Overview

Okayama University is located just two kilometers from Okayama Station allowing it to be an easy commute from anywhere in the city. With approximately 20,000 students there will be no shortage of friends to be made. Okayama offers seven levels worth of Japanese language learning experience with traditional skill based classes and more topic based classes. Some classes are offered in English, which would mostly be Japanese culture & society related. Students will enroll in the equivalent of 12 U.S. credit hours of courses per semester.

Course Approval Form

All students will be required to complete a Course Approval Form prior to leaving for their study abroad program so that you have met with your Academic Advisor and are aware of what courses you will take during your program.
