GA Health Insurance

麻豆传媒 and the Kansas Board of Regents are pleased to offer a student health insurance plan for eligible graduate assistants. For eligible graduate assistants, a portion of the premium is paid by the University IF the student is fully enrolled by September 16, 2024. The insurance coverage is effective August 1, 2024 for those students fully enrolled by August 31, 2024. For those fully enrolled between September 1 and September 16, coverage begins on the day the premium is paid. Coverage for the Fall 2024 semester ends on December 31, 2024.

To be eligible for the Fall semester, students must hold a 0.50 EFT (20-hour week) GTA, GRA, or GSA (or a combination of appointments totaling 20 hours per week) that begins no later than September 16, 2024 (20^th day of classes), and concludes at the end of the Fall semester. The hiring documents must also be approved through all levels before September 16, 2024. Students are required to maintain appropriate enrollment while holding an assistantship.

Enrollment in the GA Health Insurance plan is a simple online process. HOWEVER - data entry issues can make the process complicated. Please ensure you follow these instructions closely. Failure to do so could result in your insurance application being delayed or even denied. 

1. Please go to the online enrollment portal. Read the information there carefully to make sure you understand the process. Follow the link on that page to the actual enrollment form. (LINK ACTIVE ONLY DURING ENROLLMENT PERIOD)

2. Fill out the required information on the form. DOUBLE CHECK THE FOLLOWING!!
   1. Did you enter your name correctly?
   2. Did you enter your my麻豆传媒 ID number correctly?
   3. Did you enter the CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS? 
      1. You MUST use your "shockers.wichita.edu" email address
      2. DO NOT use the "mywsuID@wichita.edu" format - this is not an actual email address, it is a login credential. 
      3. DOUBLE CHECK that you spelled everything correctly in your email address. The insurance company will email you when your application is approved to request that you complete the next step in the process - an incorrect address will delay or completely derail your application. 

3. For the Insured Category - select GRT - Graduate/Research/Teaching Assistants.

4. If the Graduate School approves your application, you will be sent an email from the insurance company with a link to the payment process. Make sure to look for email from "@uhcsr.com", and add that domain to your safe senders list to ensure you don't miss the email. Check your junk mail folder as well to make sure it wasn't misdirected there.
5. You will pay the premium online by credit card or e-check to complete your enrollment process.

ENROLLMENT MUST BE COMPLETED BY September 16, 2024.
