Contextualizing Psychological Processes for Social Change (CPPSC) Research Group

Director: Dr. Nabiha Chaudhary

The Contextualizing Psychological Processes for Social Change Research Group examines the contextually shaped ideologies and praxis used by minoritized populations to create change in their own lives and communities across different socio-cultural contexts. We work to understand how women human rights defenders in Pakistan and people of color activists in the U.S. use culturally rooted knowledge to transform oppressive ideologies in their respective contexts. Additionally, we work with South Asian immigrants to understand the meaning and negotiation of their femininity across generations.
