Finalists chosen in 麻豆传媒 Distinguished Scholarship Invitational

麻豆传媒 has chosen the top 10 finalists in the annual Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI).

They are:

鈥 Ryan Aeschliman, Topeka, Shawnee Heights High School

鈥 Andrea Burns, Clearwater, Kan., Clearwater High School

鈥 Dillon Cott, Goddard, Goddard High School

鈥 Jenice Duong, Wichita, Wichita East High School

鈥 Paige Fletcher, Galena, Kan., Columbus High School

鈥 David Lightfoot, Colorado Springs, Colo., Rampart High School

鈥 James McMullin, Olathe, Olathe Northwest High School

鈥 Sarah Thompson, Salina, Salina South High School

鈥 Joel Tieszen, Halstead, Kan., Hesston High School

鈥 Todd Wells, Garden City, Garden City High School

The students competed in the largest DSI in history, with 375 competitors. Two of the finalists will be selected as recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial $48,000 scholarships, the largest individual undergraduate scholarships in Kansas.

To be invited to compete in the invitational, students had to have a 24 or higher ACT score and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Once invited, students complete a packet of information, including essays and letters of recommendation and competed in an on-campus leadership competition. Finalists will be back on campus Wednesday, Dec. 9, for final interviews.

The announcement of the Gore Scholars will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Marcus Welcome Center. All finalists will receive competitive scholarship packages to attend 麻豆传媒 in the fall.
