麻豆传媒 has named Jeremy Hill as the new director of its Center for Economic Development and Business Research.
He starts Friday, May 15.
Hill comes from Georgia Southern University, where he鈥檚 the director for the Coastal Rivers Water Planning and Policy Center. The center provides leadership in the design and implementation of policies affecting the use of water resources in the region.
The research is comparable to that of the CEDBR, said Hill, who comes to Wichita with a wide research background in business, nonprofit and community development.
鈥淚 am very excited to work with such a diverse and vibrant city,鈥 Hill said. 鈥淭he Center for Economic Development and Business Research has already developed a wonderful relationship with the local government and business community. I cannot wait to meet the community leaders and to start working on projects that will keep the city vibrant and to assist local businesses in strategic planning.鈥
Prior to working for the Water Policy Center at Georgia Southern University, Hill was assistant director for the Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development, an organization he said is very similar to the CEDBR.
In addition, Hill has done a number of survey projects, feasibility and cost/benefit studies for small and large businesses working within the United States and those seeking to develop an international market.
鈥淭hrough the dedication and commitment of the search committee, led by Steve Martens, with Rob Allison, Vera Bothner, Bill Buchanan, Bryan Derreberry and Tim Pett, we have hired the individual we have sought to move the CEDBR to the next level,鈥 said Doug Hensler, dean of the W. Frank Barton School of Business.鈥淚n Debra Franklin, Anne Gallagher, Rosemary Hedricks, Kasey Jolly and Mary Jane Townsend, we have a highly valued staff that time and again has demonstrated its ability to initiate and create and to respond to community, state and private needs. Under Jeremy鈥檚 leadership we have high expectations and confidence in the future of the center.鈥
Hill takes over as director of the CEDBR from Janet Harrah, who in July 2008 left the position to work at Northern Kentucky University.
