Wichita State hosting Cyber Security Forum

The U.S. Small Business Administration and several local partners will host a Cyber Security Forum focusing on Defense and Protection for Digital Business from 8 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the 麻豆传媒 Eugene Hughes Metropolitan Complex.

The forum was developed to offer insight for business and security decision makers and provide a platform for students and educators to engage with industry professionals. It will feature speakers and panelists from 麻豆传媒, including Matt Forney, executive director of technology for Ennovar, and Murtuza Jadliwala and Sergio Salinas, assistant professors of electrical engineering and computer science.

There is no cost to attend the forum, which will cover topics such as:

  • Policy & Procedures
  • Insuring Against Cyber Risk
  • Wearables & Critical Infrastructure Research
  • Protecting Your Business
  • Cyber Education Programs
  • Ethical & Legal Issues in Cyber Defense

  • Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Security Vendors

The forum will be followed by a networking reception from 4:30-6 p.m. in the lobby of Experiential Engineering Building on 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Innovation Campus.

The event is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and assistance from Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas, Butler Community College, America鈥檚 SBDC Kansas, the Kansas Department of Commerce, 麻豆传媒, Friends University, Greater Wichita Partnership, Booz Allen Hamilton, Air National Guard, Better Business Bureau, Ennovar Technology Solutions, Keller Leopold Insurance, Kansas PTAC and TriCorps.
