Wichita State student veterans helping in the hurricane relief effort

Members of the Student Veterans Organization (SVO) at 麻豆传媒 are banding together to help the Hurricane Harvey relief effort in the Houston area.

A collection point for survivors and first responders is being set up in the Student Military and Veteran Center in Grace Wilkie Hall, Room 105.

The is communicating with the local region liaison from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regarding what is needed.

鈥淲e don鈥檛 want to be a logistical burden, but we want to provide something that has a positive impact,鈥 says SVO President Jared Smith.

At this time, nonperishable food items 鈥 excluding water bottles 鈥 are being requested.

The Student Government Association has offered to use the free student food and supply locker, also located in Grace Wilkie Hall, as overflow.
