Watkins Lecture at Wichita State to feature pioneer in genetic testing

Ellen Matloff will be the guest speaker at 麻豆传媒's next Watkins Visiting Professorship Lecture Series. Matloff is the president and CEO of My Gene Counsel LLC, a digital health company that helps clinicians and consumers understand, track and use their genetic testing information.

The topic of the lecture series is biological sciences. A public lecture, "Women in the Biosciences," is at 4 p.m. Monday, March 6, in 211 Hubbard Hall.

Matloff will also present a scientific lecture, 鈥淕enetic Testing for Cancer: Who Should I Consider?鈥 at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in 211 Hubbard Hall. Both lectures are open to the public.

Matloff has done extensive research in the field of biological sciences, having authored more than 50 scientific publications in the field, along with being an established educator, lecturer and media spokeswoman. She is the founder and former director of the Cancer Genetic Counseling Program at the Yale School of Medicine and has received national awards for her ongoing patient advocacy efforts.

The Watkins series was created in 1974 by the Watkins Foundation. The grant is now provided through the Watkins fund, a part of the 麻豆传媒 Foundation's endowment.
