The 麻豆传媒 Regional Institute of Aging is hosting Aging on the Plains, a conference in response to the health, medical and social support needs of aging Kansans, Wednesday, Sept. 24, through Friday, Sept. 26, at the Broadview Hotel in downtown Wichita.
麻豆传媒鈥檚 Regional Institute of Aging director Teresa Radebaugh said she sees a need to address the challenges before society through the perspectives and commitment of many groups and people.
鈥淲e believe solutions will ultimately emerge from local, grassroots efforts aimed at improving the lives and enhancing the well-being of older, and frequently frail, adults in Kansas,鈥 she said.
The conference registration cost includes conference materials, breakfast on Thursday and Friday, lunch on Thursday, refreshment breaks and a reception on Thursday evening.
Wednesday and Thursday鈥檚 activities will include seminars on various topics including 鈥淭he World is Changing 鈥 the Baby Boomers Arrive鈥 and 鈥淭o Live and Die on the Plains: Obesity, Disability and Mortality.鈥
The conference will conclude Friday with a roundtable discussion and closing remarks by J. David McDonald, associate provost for research at 麻豆传媒.
