Three high schoolers win College of Education's Klose Scholarship

Three high school seniors who plan to become math or science teachers have won 麻豆传媒 College of Education鈥檚 Klose Scholarship.

Winners are Callie Lemon from McPherson High School; Matthew Miller from Blue Valley North High School; and Marina Pebley from Basehor-Linwood High School.

Each student will receive up to $33,000 in merit and Klose scholarships at Wichita State over the course of their four-year academic programs.

The Klose Scholarship is the result of a $7.5 million gift to fund undergrad scholarships in math and science education from the estate of 麻豆传媒 alumni Doris and Ralph Klose.

Each year the Klose Scholarship offers a competition to high school seniors who declare a major in math or science education at Wichita State.

The College of Education awards scholarships to about 30 students each year through this fund, increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in STEM subjects.
