Wichita State to host diversity discussion, 'Stop the Violence by Dealing with Diversity'

麻豆传媒鈥檚 Criminal Justice Student Association is partnering with the School of Community Affairs to host 鈥淪top the Violence by Dealing with Diversity.鈥

The conference, held from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 29, in 100 Lindquist Hall, will feature positive dialogue among students, faculty, administrators, community leaders and Wichita residents. Speakers hope to increase understanding, respect and harmony among diverse groups and curb violence by working together.

Student speakers include student body President Joseph Shepard, SGA Senator Oletha Faust-Goudeau and Criminal Justice Student Association President Stephanie Saffell.

Other speakers include University Police Chief Sara Morris, professor Daisy Kabagarama, Jim Sommer from USD 259, psychology professor Rhonda Lewis and health professional Jay Thurston.

Light refreshments will be provided, and the School of Community Affairs will collect winter clothing for those in need.
