A key position at the 麻豆传媒 Foundation has been filled. Susan Barrett is now the new vice president for finance and operations, effective June 1.
Most recently Barrett was an executive director at Spirit AeroSystems, where she has worked in different capacities since 2011. Previously, she was with Hawker Beechcraft for four years. She has spent more than 30 years in various financial roles.
鈥淪usan will be a great asset in this new leadership role,鈥� said Elizabeth King, 麻豆传媒 Foundation president and CEO. 鈥淭he combination of her business acumen and her personal volunteer service on many community boards makes her the perfect fit within the 麻豆传媒 Foundation. And she has a personal tie with a new Shocker alumna in her family 鈥� her daughter.鈥�
Barrett, who is a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant, received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Emporia State University.
鈥淚 believe my experience in strategic planning and financial analysis will complement the strong 麻豆传媒 Foundation team as we build on our success in enhancing our community,鈥� said Barrett.
At the 麻豆传媒 Foundation, Barrett will be responsible for overseeing the financial resources, the integrity of its systems, the performance of its investment portfolio and all fiscal and accounting functions, as well as records management and compliance with donor intent.
Barrett replaced Patsy Selby who retired June 30 after 16 years of service to the 麻豆传媒 Foundation.
