麻豆传媒's Aging Studies program was ranked among the top 15 online schools for master's degrees in gerontology by an Online School Center listing.
The ranking took into account the nature of the coursework, the degree of thoroughness and the complexity of the curriculum. It also evaluated the financial aid availability and whether the program provided an education beyond the classroom experience.
The aging population is increasing rapidly, and in the next 20 years senior individuals will represent about 20 percent of the U.S. population. This creates a need for more gerontology professionals.
Students in the program will learn how to provide the aging population with vocational, legal, medical and psychological services.
Wichita State鈥檚 program was designed based on the standards of the Association for Gerontology in High Education and focuses on social sciences by addressing the biological, psychological, social, health care, policy, fitness and business dimensions of aging.
