Elliott School's Comm Week emphasizes networking, skill building and enrichment

Excitement is building in the Elliott School of Communication at 麻豆传媒 as students prepare for Communication Week 2015, Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 14-15.

Following fall break, Comm Week offers events covering a variety of subjects. The sessions will include information valuable to students in any communications emphasis, from journalism to advertising.

Activities this year include a panel discussion on diversity, alumni mixers and a downtown media crawl of agencies, including The Wichita Eagle, Howerton + White, Digital Brand, Justin McClure Creative, Sullivan Higdon & Sink, Intake Studios and Greteman Group. The media crawl is the only event requiring online registration.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

  • 10:30-11:45 a.m. 鈥 鈥淕ame On: Communication Careers in Sports,鈥 265 RSC. Listen in on roundtable discussions with notable sports marketers, journalists and broadcasters.
  • 1-2:30 p.m. 鈥 鈥淢ore Than Just a Story: Journalists Covering Crises,鈥 265 RSC.
  • 1-2:30 p.m. 鈥 鈥淥pportunities Abound: Elliott School Showcase,鈥 Elliott Hall Commons. Learn more about the student organizations in the Elliott School and enjoy free frozen custard from Freddy鈥檚 Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

Thursday, Oct. 15
