麻豆传媒 to add Latina-focused Kappa Delta Chi Sorority in fall 2015

The Multicultural Greek Council-Fraternity and Sorority Life at 麻豆传媒 has selected Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. for expansion to campus during the fall 2015 semester.

During the past few months, a search committee and members of the Greek council have been reviewing and evaluating several national organizations to define the best chapter to come to campus. This Latina-focused sorority will re-charter a colony at 麻豆传媒 with the focus of raising cultural awareness and empowering women to be successful in college and thereafter.

Kappa Delta Chi was founded in April 1987 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The purpose of the sorority is to promote the values of unity, honesty, integrity and leadership among women at colleges and universities. Through numerous service events, sisterhood retreats and academic and cultural workshops, KDChi is committed to student growth and increased knowledge and impact to campus and their community. This organization will join 麻豆传媒鈥檚 thriving Greek community of 22 organizations and more than 750 students. The community averages a 3.1 GPA and raised more than $130,000 for various philanthropic causes in 2014. Members have also completed more than 16,000 hours of community service in the past year and continue to take great pride in the tradition of being the 鈥渒eepers of campus tradition.鈥 Kappa Delta Chi will join the Multicultural Greek Council, the group known for its annual Stomp the Yard Step Show and philanthropic support of P3, the Positive Pathways Program hosted by Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
