'Chemical Imbalance: A Jekyll & Hyde Play' showing at 麻豆传媒

麻豆传媒 Theater will present 鈥淐hemical Imbalance: A Jekyll & Hyde Play鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, May 1-3, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, in Wilner Auditorium.

A farcical adaptation of the famed novella by Robert Louis Stevenson, 鈥淐hemical Imbalance: A Jekyll & Hyde Play鈥 is a fast-paced romp about men and women walking the line between aristocracy and depravity; good and evil.

The show centers on Henry Jekyll, the shy but devious unmarried son of a wealthy and pretentious Victorian family, who is conducting secret experiments to search for a chemical compound that will separate the good and evil nature in us all. Jekyll believes that if he succeeds, the evil side will be free to 鈥渒ick, bite and kill鈥 anyone that gets in his way, without inhibition or remorse. After the mayhem, he believes, the 鈥済ood side鈥 will reappear and Dr. Jekyll will return to polite society without any feelings of guilt. Instead of feeling no remorse as planned, however, he begins to turn into a guilt-ridden monster unable to stop his murderous ways.

The production features director Judith Babnich, professor in the 麻豆传媒 School of Performing Arts, and performances by students Alex Castaneda, Trevor Comstock, Kyle Dilley, Michael Gordon, Audrey Kisner, Rian Leigh, Hannah See, Deiondre Teagle, Robert Thomas and Allison Williams.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for military, senior citizens, faculty and staff and $6 for students. 麻豆传媒 students receive one free ticket with their student ID.
