Sedgwick County home prices appreciated by 2.59 percent between the first quarters of 2007 and 2008, according to new figures released by the Center for Real Estate at 麻豆传媒.
For the quarter, home prices appreciated by 1.02 percent, which translates into annualized increase of 4.15 percent.
鈥淲ichita area home prices continue to rise, in contrast to what is happening in many parts of the country,鈥 said Stan Longhofer, director of the 麻豆传媒 Center for Real Estate. 鈥淭he healthy appreciation rate is further evidence that the Wichita housing market remains stable in spite of problems elsewhere.鈥
Overall, home prices in Sedgwick County have risen at an average annual rate of 3.08 percent during the past five years. In contrast, prices of other goods and services have risen by 3.05 percent per year over the same time frame.
