'The Trojan Women' at 麻豆传媒 portrays tragedy of war

麻豆传媒 Theater presents 鈥淭he Trojan Women,鈥 written by Euripides in 415 B.C. and translated by Nicholas Rudall. It shows at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19-Saturday, Feb 22, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Welsbacher Theatre, Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 29th and Oliver, entrance F.

General admission is $10, $8 for military, seniors, faculty and staff, $6 for students and free for 麻豆传媒 sudents at the box office with ID.

鈥淭he Trojan Women鈥 tells the timeless story of the Trojan War through the eyes of the women it left behind. It is set just after the fall of Troy as common and royal women alike await their fates, taken to distant lands to serve the conquering Greeks.

The play is directed by 麻豆传媒 senior Trevor Comstock. The cast includes Sheena Monroe, Krista Nelson, Rian Leigh, Hannah See, Robert Thomas, Karina Williams, Esme Banuelos, Jami Mumma, Bailey Burcham, Kristen Bock and Alex Castaneda. Student designers include Catie Butcher, Andrea Deschaine, Jacob Locke, Alyce Murphy and Cody Buettgenbach.

鈥淭he Trojan Women鈥 is a Second Stage production and is sponsored in part by the 麻豆传媒 Student Government Association. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Box Office from noon-5 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of Duerksen Fine Arts Center at Wichita State.
