Always on the musical cutting edge, the award-winning Impulse Percussion Group (IPG) will give a premiere performance of Rimsky-Korsakov鈥檚 masterpiece 鈥淪cheherazade鈥 arranged for percussion. The entire Wichita Symphony Orchestra percussion section will share the stage.

"You can expect that the IPG will bring out all the stops, with incredible virtuosity well beyond their years," Scholl said.

In addition, the 麻豆传媒 Steel Band will perform pieces by the Dave Matthews Band, George and Ira Gershwin, and Victor Wooten鈥檚 famous, 鈥淪ex in a Pan.鈥

Ed Harrison, timpanist of the Chicago Lyric Opera and director of the Roosevelt School of Music Percussion Ensemble, said of the Impulse Percussion Group; "Their performance . . . is far above the university ensemble and as good as any I've ever heard."
