Kansas' SRS Secretary to highlight 麻豆传媒's Hugo Wall Day event

Don Jordan, Kansas Secretary of Social and Rehabilitation Services, will be the featured speaker at Hugo Wall Day, Friday, Sept. 10, at the Wichita Marriott Hotel, 9100 E. Corporate Hills Dr.

Secretary Jordan will discuss the changing and challenging role of public servants at the event, which honors Wall, founder of Wichita State鈥檚 School of Urban and Public Affairs.

His presentation begins at 1:30 p.m. The free event is open to Hugo Wall School alumni and area public and nonprofit administrative professionals.

Following Jordan鈥檚 presentation, participants may attend afternoon forums on topics such as coordination of services for vulnerable populations; building sustainable communities; and the loss of the fourth estate focusing on changes in the media, especially newspaper circulation.
Wendy Johnson, Wichita public school鈥檚 director of marketing and communications, will present a featured alumni session focusing on changing public image.

Faculty presenters and their topics are professor Mark Glaser, Hugo Wall School, creating a model for impactful citizen involvement, and professor Les Anderson, Elliott School of Communication, the loss of the fourth estate. Additional speakers are Michelle Ponce, special assistant for integrated services, SRS; Mark Masterson, director, Sedgwick County Department of Corrections, and Carolyn Risley Hill, executive officer, Starkey Inc.

A reception at 5 p.m. will conclude the day鈥檚 activities.
The event is sponsored by the Hugo Wall School Advisory Board.
