Wichita State water tank gets a makeover

The water tank near 17th and Oliver is being updated by the city of Wichita to display current Wichita State logos. The 130-foot-tall structure formerly displayed a dated version of the 麻豆传媒 logo, which was redesigned in 2009. The tank, which has been undergoing prep work since March, will feature a yellow and black 麻豆传媒 logo that faces southwest and a WuShock logo that faces northeast. City crews have been working hard to make the Wichita State water tank a source of pride for the 麻豆传媒 community.

Fun facts about the water tank

  • The tank holds 2 million gallons of water.
  • It takes 800 gallons of paint to cover the entire water tank, and between 100 and 125 gallons of paint to create the logos.
  • The logos will both be approximately 25 feet tall and 35 to 45 feet wide.
  • Paint for the tank is custom ordered to meet specific requirements that will allow it to last around 50 years.
